A relaxed, inclusive atmosphere, welcoming to all, whether you’re observing Ramadan, exploring a future in tech, or simply looking to meet new people.
A short introduction to Ramadan and the meaning of Iftar.
Opportunities to meet students and professionals from across the tech community.
Shared food and conversation as we break the fast together.
Who should attend:
- Students interested in pursuing a career in technology.
- Members of the Leeds tech and digital community.
- Following Abstract’s recent expansion into Saudi Arabia, we especially welcome students from KSA who are studying in the UK and considering careers in the global tech ecosystem.
- Anyone observing Ramadan or keen to learn and take part.
No prior knowledge of Ramadan or tech experience is required, just curiosity and openness.

This Iftar is about community, hospitality, and shared experience.
We hope you’ll join us for an evening of connection, reflection, and conversation.
Agenda:
- 5:45 pm – Arrival & welcome
- 6:15 pm – Introduction, reflections on Ramadan & careers in tech
- Sunset (~6:20–6:30 pm) – Iftar (breaking the fast together)
- 6:30 pm onwards – Dinner, conversation, and informal networking
- 8:00 pm – Close
(Exact Iftar time will follow sunset on the day.
This event is free to attend. A full halal Iftar meal will be provided at sunset, with vegetarian options available.
It’s a great opportunity to connect with others in the Leeds tech community, meet new people, and be part of a meaningful shared experience.
